Paint Protection Film, A.K.A. Clear Bra or PPF, is a 8mil transparent urethane film applied to a vehicle’s exterior paint surface to protect from rock chips, bug guts, and road debris. PPF has come a long way; started and developed in the 1960’s for the military, to the late 1980’s in the Motorsports industries, to the late 1990’s to 2000’s for the consumers, to the present day. There have been massive improvements in clarity, self-healing and hydrophobic properties, variety of PPF colors, and thickness.
